rolling in the deep

Image

This has been an exciting week, and I’ve been up late pretty much every night doing everything from writing to seeing The Magic Flute. Tonight, Mom and I went to Deep Ellum to eat some pizza and see a play. Street art, beautiful and thought-provoking, decorated almost every wall of the neighborhood. We took pictures in front of a factory right next to the parking lot before eating dinner (vanilla mascarpone + nutella + pizza = a good idea). Dallas is such a sparkly city, and there was a perfect view of the skyline from our location.

I’m wearing bracelets from Turkey, Target sunhat, Urban Outfitters sunglasses, LOVE Republic vest, AEO lace peplum top and skirt, PacSun bandeau, and Pesaro sandals.

cityscapes

I escaped my French and Algebra lessons in favor of a doctors appointment, light adventuring, and lunch with my grandma today. Dallas is a fantastic city, the weather is wonderful, and I’m in a stellar mood, which all add up to a very lovely day indeed.
I’m wearing Vans sneakers, UNIQLO tights, thrifted shorts, Free People tank top, Delia’s cardigan, and alabaster shell earrings from my grandparents trip to Hawaii.
I hope your day was as lovely as mine!

hanorah

austin + adventure

20140121-125427.jpg

Martin Luther King weekend was celebrated with the southerly extension of my family: my aunt, uncle, and little cousin. my mom had a conference in austin, so my aunt, cousin, and I spent the day shopping and eating diner in the capital.
I got some records from Antone’s, a new poetry book, “The Warmth of the Taxidermied Animal,” and a new skirt from Buffalo Exchange, before we ate dinner at Enoteca and saw American Idiot, a rather aggressive and rather enjoyable musical.

Adventure has taken on new meaning as of late and I’m finding every moment and new experience more enjoyable.

new year + hello

Image

I spent the first moments and days of 2014 in Colorado with my dad. Colorado is very different than Texas, with colder air and warmer people.

On New Year’s Eve, Dad and I stayed in to do a puzzle and snuggle with Nube the Chihuahua. We went ice skating the following day, and later in the week visited family and went snowboarding on fresh, sparkling snow. I returned home last Sunday.
